After-Hours Dispatcher

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily trucking operations outside regular business hours and ensure smooth transportation processes.
• Maintain communication with drivers to provide operational support and address any issues that arise during their shifts.
• Monitor drivers' progress, shipment statuses, pickup and delivery schedules.
• Respond to urgent requests, unexpected delays, breakdowns, and other operational issues.
• Coordinate with drivers, brokers, and other relevant parties to resolve transportation-related problems.
• Track loads and ensure timely updates regarding shipment status and estimated arrival times.
• Assist drivers with route-related questions, delivery instructions, and other operational matters.
• Escalate critical issues to the appropriate team members or management when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, delays, and operational updates for the day-shift team.
• Prepare shift handover reports to ensure a smooth transition between after-hours and regular operations.

Requirements

• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations.
• High level of responsibility, attention to detail, and reliability.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in working with online platforms, spreadsheets, and communication tools.
• Previous experience in trucking, dispatching, or U.S. logistics is a plus.
• Willingness to work night shifts or outside regular U.S. business hours, according to the company’s schedule.
